They gave the grammy away to coldplat. darn. i dont really like them as much as the others... i dunno how they judged the song of the year, but i utterly believe mraz should've won. he deserves it. im yours has been around since whenever. it's been to canada, spain, china... everyone loved it. coldplay on the other is english muffin. only the brits love it. roar.

tsk tsk. my man jason is underappreciated. there will be retribution.

will wait for mraz' vendetta. make another album and grab the grammy's next year. the hell with coldplay.

i rock with chasing pavement. adele is hot. and estelle is like a moving editorial photo.

next up, oscars.

Channeling Nestle

hello.

as we all already know, i am now working at a call center in lipa. i know people criticize me for not choosing a job that better fits my qualifications, but thanks to the recession, i don't have to explain a lot of things to people. I just say: "we are on a recession and i badly need money." that usually ends the awkward conversation about my job choice.


anyways.. one thing about working in a call center though is you can't control the schedule. sometimes you are in the usual 8-5 schedule, but most of the time, you have to render graveyard shifts because your customers are on another timezone. and because of this usual schedule changes, my asthma was triggered again.


i haven't had asthma for quite a while now. but it's back, and it's compromising my work. just recently i was rushed to the hospital because of asthma, and i got a recommendation from my doctor to either ask for a change in schedule (ie. from graveyard to the usual shift) or just let go of the call center job totally. he says it's affecting the way i breathe, and the unusual sleeping time is not helping. so because of the happenings, i was forced to reapply for some other company... this brought me to jobstreet, where i saw a post from my life-longed company: NESTLE.


the post was for supply chain corporate management traineeship. i applied for it just in case the call center job proves to be a plague for my health in the future.

When asked the question: How would you relate your key competencies to this position? my answer is...

The post basically needs an individual who is willing to learn and adapt to work involving distribution and process management... I personally am schooled for these, and I am very well versed in basic economics and logistics. As an economics graduate, I understand the basic laws of demand and supply, the role of logistics in making thriving markets, and the interactions between markets and the state. I have a high propensity to learn; this job will not only put my theoretical training into application, it will also prove to me that what I learned from the books makes sense in reality.

The post needs an individual who can lead and inspire people, meet goals, and adapt to change. My main aptitude for this one is my communication skills. I have been in publications for eight years, and I know how to communicate with a plethora of people, written or otherwise. I started in the dirtiest departments (i.e. news and features) and from there, I worked my way up. In the whole duration of my involvement with the school paper, I was a news writer, a features writer, a development communicator, a development communications editor, a features editor, and finally a managing editor. I know the tedious job of a pool writer, and the equally demanding job of a managing editor. Along the way I met and dealt with different people, and made things work between them. Until now, the organs I was involved before continue to be official publications in my respective schools.

Finally, I personally want to work for Nestle because it embodies my philosophy about work. I strongly believe in wellness as a factor in doing well in work, life, and the balance in between. I value health and proper diet, and up to now, I haven't found a job that is attuned to these values. I checked out Nestle's online website, and the idea of working for a company that promotes wellness in their products just makes me want to know more about Nestle. I am now a strong supporter of Nestle's products (especially the milk line - Bear Brand and Nido, and the fiber drink Nesvita) because I know these products are born out of the conscious effort to bring wellness to its consumers.

I hope my qualifications fit the needs of this job. I am very willing to learn, adapt, and embody. I communicate well, am knowledgeable in business economics, and I value wellness more than what's deemed usual. Please consider my application for this one, I won't let you down.
